They say that eventually the market will identify all your flaws and test out each one individually.  Well, if lack of patience is one of your flaws, you're certainly getting a trial by fire lately. 

In fact, the "long pause" is now over one month old, with no sign of a breakout.  Given that, picks have dried up considerably, and my guess is that no matter the trading style, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone making consistent money these days.

So, we wait.  A breakout almost has to be near, although with the holidays approaching -- my gosh -- it might not be until 2011 until we see anything of substance.

As for last week's picks, pretty much what you'd expect from a flat market:  Winners (OMX) and losers (VMW) were a wash, with the rest -- HMIN, KNXA, DLLR, SBUX, OXM, and SM -- pretty much flat.
