Reader Gene asks:

Gary,
In the weekly summary, how do you determine if a pick has been a winner or loser?
Thanks,
Gene

Pretty simple, Gene: if a stock is up 3% (before it's down 4%) from the previous day's close, it's a winner.  If it's down 4%, a loser.  If it hasn't hit either, I'll use a judgment call, but usually call those "unchanged."  Sometimes I'll make an exception (like SMJ, which never hit a limit order), but otherwise, those are pretty much the rules.
